This instrument is the Primary Industries Levies and Charges Disbursement (Relevant Animal Health and Plant Health Bodies) Determination 2024.
This instrument commences on 1 January 2025.
This instrument is made under subsections 7(2) and 8(2) of the Primary Industries Levies and Charges Disbursement Act 2024.
4 Simplified outline for this instrument
This instrument determines each body for an AHA commodity/service that is a relevant animal health body as defined in the Act (see Part 2 of this instrument). It also determines each body for a PHA commodity/service that is a relevant plant health body as defined in the Act (see Part 3 of this instrument).
Note: A number of expressions used in this instrument are defined in subsection 4(1) of the Act, including the following:

In this instrument:
Act means the Primary Industries Levies and Charges Disbursement Act 2024.
AHA means Animal Health Australia as defined in subsection 4(1) of the Act.
Disbursement Rules means the Primary Industries Levies and Charges Disbursement Rules 2024.
Levies Act means the Primary Industries (Excise) Levies Act 2024.
Levies Regulations means the Primary Industries (Excise) Levies Regulations 2024.
PHA means Plant Health Australia as defined in subsection 4(1) of the Act.
Part 2—Relevant animal health bodies
6 Simplified outline of this Part
This Part specifies the relevant animal health body for an AHA commodity/service. Each body is a member of AHA that represents an industry in relation to the AHA commodity/service.
Note: Part 3 of the Act provides that the Commonwealth must pay to AHA amounts in relation to an AHA commodity/service that are connected with certain collected levies and charges and components of the rates of those levies and charges prescribed in Part 4 of the Disbursement Rules.
A payment made to AHA in relation to the AHA commodity/service is subject to the condition that the payment is applied in accordance with priorities. Certain priorities require payments in relation to biosecurity response components of collected levy or charge to be applied on behalf of, or in accordance with a request by, a relevant animal health body for an AHA commodity/service: see sections 48 and 49 of the Act.
7 Relevant animal health bodies
For the purposes of subsection 7(2) of the Act, a body specified in column 1 of an item of the following table is determined to be a relevant animal health body in relation to one or more AHA commodity/services specified in column 2 of that item.

Part 3—Relevant plant health bodies
8 Simplified outline of this Part
This Part specifies the relevant plant health body for a PHA commodity/service. Each body is a member of PHA that represents an industry in relation to the PHA commodity/service.
Note: Part 4 of the Act provides that the Commonwealth must pay to PHA amounts in relation to a PHA commodity/service that are connected with certain collected levies and charges and components of the rates of those levies and charges prescribed in Part 5 of the Disbursement Rules.
A payment made to PHA in relation to the PHA commodity/service is subject to the condition that the payment is applied in accordance with priorities. Certain priorities require payments in relation to biosecurity response components of collected levy or charge to be applied on behalf of, or in accordance with a request by, a relevant plant health body for a PHA commodity/service: see sections 58 and 59 of the Act.
9 Relevant plant health bodies
For the purposes of subsection 8(2) of the Act, a body specified in column 1 of an item of the following table is determined to be a relevant plant health body in relation to one or more PHA commodity/services specified in column 2 of that item.
