This instrument is the Aged Care Legislation Amendment (Quality Indicator Program) Principles 2024.
(1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

This instrument is made under section 96-1 of the Aged Care Act 1997.
Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.
Accountability Principles 2014
1 Section 4 (after the definition of charge exempt resident)
Insert:
Department in this instrument means the Department of Health and Aged Care.
2 Section 4 (definition of National Aged Care Mandatory Quality Indicator Program Manual)
Repeal the definition, substitute:
National Aged Care Mandatory Quality Indicator Program Manual means the National Aged Care Mandatory Quality Indicator Program Manual 4.0–Part A, published on the Department’s website, as existing at the commencement of the Aged Care Legislation Amendment (Quality Indicator Program) Principles 2024.
3 Paragraph 26(b)
Omit “2023”, substitute “2024”.
4 Section 4 (after the definition of Charter of Aged Care Rights)
Insert:
Department in this instrument means the Department of Health and Aged Care.
5 Section 4 (definition of National Aged Care Mandatory Quality Indicator Program Manual)
Repeal the definition, substitute:
