The amendments to Part 2 of the Cairns Area Plan of Management 1998 contained in this instrument commenced on 2 December 2004 when the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Amendment Regulations 2004 (No. 5) commenced - see subsection 39ZF(2) of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Act 1975.
